Today’s selected reading continues in the Old Testament prophetic book of Jeremiah, and more specifically, is found in the twenty-fifth chapter. THE TIMEFRAME OF THE WORD OF THE LORD! THE TIMEFRAME OF THE LORD SPEAKING! THE TIMEFRAME OF THE LORD BEGINNING TO SPEAK WITH YOU! When you begin reading this passage of Scripture, you will notice that Jeremiah provides a very specific timeline—one that was significant in the midst of Jerusalem and Judah. “The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Johoiaakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; the which. Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is three and twentieth year, the word of the Lord hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking” (Jeremiah 25:1-3). Within this particular set of verses we discover the prophet ministry of Jeremiah beginning during the reign of one king of Judah and continuing into the reign of another. Jeremiah began his prophetic ministry before the Lord in the thirteenth year of Josiah king of Judah, and now here in the fourth year of Jehoiakim—Josiah’s son—we find Jeremiah is still prophesying to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and Judah. If you journey back to the twenty-second chapter of the Old Testament book of Second Kings, you will find the timeline of Josiah’s reign, for the author of the book records that “Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-and one years in Jerusalem.” In the thirty-sixth verse of the twenty-third chapter we discover that Josiah’s son Jehoiakiim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and that he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. If Josiah began reigning at the age of eight, and if Jeremiah didn’t begin his prophetic ministry until the thirteenth year, then that means that Josiah was twenty-one when Jeremiah began his prophetic ministry. Scripture recounts that Josiah reigned as king of Judah for thirty-one years, which also means that if he had already completed thirteen years as king of Judah, then he has eighteen years left before his reign would end and he would go the way of all the kings of Judah. In the eighteenth year of Josiah’s reign we find the account of the book of the Law being found in the Temple of the Lord, it’s being read in the hearing of Josiah, and Josiah’s subsequent cleaning spree within the lands of Israel and Judah.
It’s interesting to note that in the thirteenth year of Josiah’s reign, the prophetic ministry of Jeremiah began, and just five years later, the book of the Law is rediscovered in the Temple of the Lord. WHEN THE PROPHETIC MINISTRY OF THE LORD BEGINS AND IS FOLLOWED BY THE REDISCOVERY OF THE BOOK OF THE LAW! I can’t help but find it to be absolutely incredible that thirteen years into the reign of Josiah king of Judah the Lord would raise up a prophetic voice in Jeremiah, and then five years later He would follow the manifestation of the prophetic voice with the rediscovery of the book of the Law. In other words—first came the manifestation of the word of the Lord which was spoken through the prophet Jeremiah, while the rediscovery of the word of God came thereafter. This is quite interesting because Josiah’s campaign for cleansing in the midst of the land took place between the manifestation of the word of the Lord and the rediscovery of the word of God. The manifestation of the word of the Lord came through the prophet Jeremiah whom the Lord raised up from the men of Anathoth, while the rediscovery of the word of God came within the Temple of the Lord. Pay attention to this, for the campaign to cleanse the land did not originate within the heart of Josiah king of Judah, but actually originated as a result of the hearing of the word of God. When the book of the Law of the Lord was rediscovered in the Temple of the Lord, Jeremiah had already been prophesying for five years in the land of Judah and in the city of Jerusalem. It’s worth noting that although Jeremiah had been prophesying for five years in the land of Judah, it wasn’t until the word of God was read in the hearing of Josiah that something inside him finally registered, and he was immediately struck with the overwhelming sense of the judgment of God upon the land. It’s worth noting that upon hearing the words recorded in the word of God, Josiah’s heart was immediately pricked and consumed within him, and he recognized and understood that both nation and people were living under the judgment of the Lord. The New Testament write declares that “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God,” and I firmly believe that with every fiber of my being. With that being said, I am also convinced that conviction comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Josiah’s heart and conscience were moved within him when he heard the words of the book of the Law read in his hearing.
The campaign for cleansing took place in the place between the manifestation of the word of the Lord [the spoken word of God through His servant] and the written word of God [the book of the Law which was written by Moses]. I have written before how absolutely wonderful it is to think that it almost seems the Lord preserved His own Word within the very Temple of the Lord. PRESERVING THE WORD OF THE LORD IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD! The word of God was rediscovered in the house of the Lord, which is actually quite significant, for I am convinced that there are a number of men and women who are destined to rediscover the word of God within their lives, yet in order for them to reach that place, they need to return to the house of the Lord. There are men and women in this generation right now who may be encountering the word of the Lord within their hearts and lives, yet the Spirit of the Lord desires to bring them to the place where the word of the Lord meets the Word of God. I believe that when the words of the book of the Law [the divine Word of God itself] was read in the hearing of Josiah king of Judah, it directly met all the words Jeremiah had been prophesying for the past five years. For five years Josiah and all Judah encountered the word of the Lord through the prophetic ministry of Jeremiah, yet it’s almost as if the word of the Lord was preparing the hearts of those who were ready and willing to receive the Word of God. WHEN THE WORD OF THE LORD PREPARES YOU FOR THE WORD OF GOD! WHEN THE WORD OF THE LORD TILLS THE GROUND TO PREPARE THE SOIL FOR THE SEED OF THE WORD OF GOD! I can’t help but get the strong sense that the Lord prepared the soil of the hearts of men and women of Judah for five years with the word of the Lord as manifested through Jeremiah, yet there would come that point in time when the Word of God would be rediscovered in their midst. Oh, I can’t escape the thought that the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord used the word of the Lord in the midst of the land of Judah and in the city of Jerusalem for five years before the actual Word of God was rediscovered in the house of the Lord. For five years the word of the Lord was manifested in the streets of the city of Jerusalem, yet it wouldn’t be until five years later the actual word of God would be rediscovered. I am thoroughly convinced that it was the word of the Lord which prepared and plowed the soil of the hearts of the men and women of Judah—and more specifically, the heart of Josiah king of Judah—for the rediscovery of the Word of God in their midst.
Think about how long the Lord of hosts had preserved the Word of God there within the Temple, and how long He had watched over it in the house. Think about how many times Jeremiah stood in the corners of the streets, and even in the court of the Lord and prophesied the word of the Lord before the Word of God would and could be rediscovered. I would dare say that the word of the Lord in the mouth of Jeremiah was used in the hand of the Lord to prepare the heart of the king for that moment when the Word of God would be rediscovered. In that moment—that moment when the words contained within the Word of God were read in the hearing of Josiah—the word of the Lord and the Word of God collided and spontaneously combusted within his heart, thus producing a powerful reaction within his heart and soul. Oh it was true that for five years Jeremiah stood and prophesied in the midst of the land, but it wasn’t until the Word of God was rediscovered—and not just rediscovered, but read in his hearing—that the heart of Josiah was ultimately and finally gripped and moved within him. I believe that the word of the Lord had faithfully tilled and plowed the soil of Josiah’s heart—had faithfully broken up the fallow ground within his heart—until that moment could come when the Word of God would not only be rediscovered, but also read in his hearing. I believe the prophetic ministry of Jeremiah—the proclamation of the word of the Lord—was indeed like a hammer which smashes, and as a fire which consumes-in the midst of the land. For five years the word of the Lord performed the work of a hammer and the work of fire in the midst of the land until that moment could come when the Word of God could be read—and not simply read, but received by Josiah. I do not believe that the time of the rediscovery of the Word of God occurred by any coincidence, but occurred at the specified and appointed time prescribed by the Lord of hosts Himself. In other words, the Lord of hosts released the word of the Lord through the prophet Jeremiah, yet there would come a point in time when the proclamation of the word of the Lord would need to meet and collide with the actual Word of God in the midst of the land. That word—the divine Word of God—was rediscovered in the place of the altar. WHEN THE WORD OF GOD IS REDISCOVERED IN THE PLACE OF THE ALTAR! How fitting and how appropriate it is to consider that when the Word of God was rediscovered, it was rediscovered in the place of the altar. Oh how there is incredible significance in this thought, for I am convinced that the Spirit of the sovereign Lord desires to bring men and women into that place where the Word of God is rediscovered within their lives, and when it finally is rediscovered in the place of the altar. In other words, it’s almost as if the rediscovery of the Word of God was directly linked to the altar of the Lord, for it was rediscovered in the place of the altar.
WHEN THE WORD OF GOD IS REDISCOVERED IN THE PLACE OF THE ALTAR! I can’t help but think that there is a tremendous significance in the fact that the Word of God was preserved in the place of the altar, and was rediscovered in the place of the altar. In other words, how many men and women need to rediscover the Word of God within their hearts and lives, yet in order for that to become a reality in their lives, they need to return to the place of the altar. The Word of God is rediscovered in the place of the altar, for it’s almost as if the rediscovery of the Word of God points men and women to the place of the altar, and to the altar itself. The Lord preserved the Word of God in the place of the altar, for the Word of God and the altar are directly and intrinsically connected and linked to each other. In other words, it is impossible to separate the Word of God from the altar—despite and regardless of how often and how hard we might try to separate them. For five years Jeremiah faithfully prophesied and proclaimed the word of the Lord in the midst of Jerusalem and Judah, yet the time had come when the word of the Lord needs to meet the Word of God. For five years the Lord was speaking to His people through the prophet Jeremiah while He faithfully watched over, preserved and protected His written Word in the place of the altar. I can’t help but think of how many men and women aren’t able to rediscover the Word of God within their hearts and lives because they are unwilling to journey to the place of the altar in order to find it. I can’t help but wonder how many men and women desperately need to rediscover the Word of God within their hearts and lives, yet it’s not until they return to the place of the altar that they will truly rediscover it. IT’S NOT UNTIL YOU ARE WILLING TO RETURN TO THE PLACE OF THE ALTAR THAT YOU WILL REDISCOVER THE WORD OF GOD WITHIN YOUR LIFE! There are a number of men and women who have spent years—perhaps even decades—running away from and avoiding the place of the altar, yet all the while not realizing or recognizing that it is in the place of the altar where the Word of God can be rediscovered. What’s more, is that the Word of God wasn’t just rediscovered in the place of the altar, but it was removed from the place of the altar, and read in the place of the king. WHEN THE WORD OF GOD IS REDISCOVERED IN THE PLACE OF THE ALTAR AND READ IN THE PLACE OF THE THRONE!
Oh, please don’t miss this incredibly important concept, for to miss it would be to miss something incredibly critical concerning the Word of God within our hearts and lives. The Word of God was rediscovered in the place of the altar, yet it did not, it could not remain in the place of the altar. When the Word of God was rediscovered in the place of the altar, it was immediately brought forth and removed from that place and brought into the presence of the king. In other words, the Word of God was rediscovered in the place of the altar, yet it did not and could not remain in the place of the altar. The Word of God was rediscovered in the place of sacrifice and offering, yet it could not remain in that place. Oh, how many men and women have absolutely no issue with discovering, or perhaps even rediscovering the Word of God in the place of the altar within their lives, yet once they experience it in that place, they quickly leave it in that place. THE WORD OF GOD WAS NEVER INTENDED TO REMAIN IN THE PLACE OF THE ALTAR! THE WORD OF GOD WAS NEVER INTENDED TO REMAIN IN THE PLACE OF SACRIFICE AND OFFERING! If you read this passage of Scripture, you will quickly notice that Hilkiah the high priest and Shaphan the scribe took the book of the law, which they had found in the house of the Lord, and they brought it to the palace of the king. This is absolutely critical within our hearts and lives, for there is a tremendous spiritual and prophetic implication that is contained within it. The Word of God was rediscovered in the place of the altar, yet it did not and could not remain in the place of the altar, but was brought to the place of the throne. The Word of God was rediscovered in the place of the altar, yet both the high priest and the scribe took and brought that Word into the place of the throne which the king sat upon. WHEN THE WORD OF GOD IS BROUGHT INTO THE PLACE OF THE THRONE! WHEN THE WORD OF GOD IS BROUGHT INTO THE PLACE OF AUTHORITY WITHIN OUR LIVES! Notice that the throne of David was the seat of authority in the midst of Jerusalem, and ultimately in all of Judah. Hilkiah and Shaphan weren’t content leaving the book of the Law of the Lord in the place of the altar, but needed to bring it to the place of the throne. IT’S NOT UNTIL WE ARE WILLING TO BRING THE WORD OF GOD TO THE PLACE OF THE THRONE THAT TRUE CHANGE AND TRANSFORMATION CAN BE EXPERIENCED AND ENCOUNTERED!
We have spent so much time thinking that true transformation takes place at the place of the altar, when in all reality that is only the starting point. The altar—the place of sacrifice and offering—is only the starting point for the type and quality of transformation that is desperately needed within our hearts and lives. Is it possible that the reason many of us don’t experience lasting change and lasting transformation within our hearts and lives is because we are content leaving the Word of God in the place of the altar, or even at the altar itself? Is it possible that the reason many of us don’t experience the true level and quality of change that is necessary and required within our hearts and lives is because we aren’t willing to take and bring it to the place of the throne. By bringing the Word of God to the place of the throne of David, the Word of God could now completely transform the entire nation and kingdom, for if the Word of God gripped and seized the heart of the king, the king could not only rule and govern from a place of righteousness, but could promote and advocate righteousness within and over the entire land. Notice that it was when Josiah heard the words of the book of the Law of the Lord that he immediately rose from his place, rent his garments, and postured himself in a place of humility before the Lord. WHEN THE WORD OF GOD BRINGS THE ALTAR TO THE THRONE! “And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes” (2 Kings 22:11). The Old Testament book of Second Chronicles also records this same account, and records how Josiah rent his clothes upon hearing the words contained in the book of the Law. I am convinced this is absolutely and incredibly significant, for although the Word of God was found and rediscovered in the place of the altar, it brought the altar to the place of the throne. WHEN THE WORD OF GOD IS FOUND IN THE PLACE OF THE ALTAR, YET BRINGS THE ALTAR TO THE PLACE OF THE THRONE! THE WORD OF GOD WAS FOUND IN THE PLACE OF SACRIFICE AND OFFERING, YET IT WAS BROUGHT INTO THE PLACE OF AUTHORITY AND DOMINION. In other words, the Word of God not only touches the place(s) of sacrifice and offering within our hearts and lives, but it also touches those places of authority and dominion. I absolutely love that the book of the Law was brought unto the king, for I believe with everything inside me that the Word of God was brought to the place of the throne, and it was there upon that throne the king was seated. What’s more, is that when the Word of God was brought into the place of the throne, the king could not remain seated on the throne, but immediately needed to rise up from that place and engage himself in action.
WHEN THE WORD OF GOD IS BROUGHT FROM THE PLACE OF THE ALTAR TO THE PLACE OF THE THRONE IT DEMANDS ACTION! I believe with all my heart there is tremendous significance in this reality, for there are countless men and women who are seated, and have remained seated upon the thrones which are present within their lives. There are men and women who cannot and will not experience true change and transformation within their hearts and lives until the Word of God hits that place of authority within their lives. There are a number of men and women who still remain in control of their own lives, and so long as they remain seated upon the throne of their lives, they cannot and will not experience true change and transformation before the Lord of hosts. When the Word of God hits the place of the authority within our lives, it radically produces change and transformation within us that demands and requires action. I would dare say it is impossible for the Word of God to move from the place of the altar to the place of the throne without it demanding and requiring action. TRUE TRANSFORMATION CANNOT AND WILL NOT TAKE PLACE WITHIN OUR HEARTS AND LIVES UNLESS WE ARE WILLING TO RISE UP AND ENGAGE IN ACTION! THERE CAN BE NO TRUE AND LASTING TRANSFORMATION WITHOUT AND APART FROM ACTION! TRANSFORMATION DEMANDS AND REQUIRES ACTION! The Word of God was rediscovered in the place of the altar, yet the Word of God did not and could not remain in the place of the altar, for it needed to be brought to the place of the throne. It was only when the Word of God was brought to the place of the throne that true transformation could take place within the land, for it was when the Word of God was brought into the place of the throne that it brought with it the altar of the Lord. It was when the Word of God brought the altar to the throne that transformation within the land could truly take place. There are so many men and women who until and unless they are willing to allow the Word of God to move from the place of the altar to the place of the throne cannot and will not experience the type of transformation that is necessary and required within their hearts and lives. There are so many men and women who are content with allowing the Word of God to remain in the place of the altar—in the place of sacrifice and offering—for so long as it remains in the place of the altar, the implications of the altar don’t have to touch the place of the throne. Oh, did you know that sacrifice and offering weren’t to take place in the place of the altar alone, but could and should be transported to the place of the throne?
The high priest and the scribe brought the Word of God from the place of the altar to the place of the throne, for the Word of God needed to touch the place of authority and dominion. When I speak of the place of the throne, I am speaking of that place within our hearts and lives where we continue to remain in control. If you are truly honest with yourself, and if you are truly honest before the Lord, you will admit that there are places within your heart and life where you choose to, and have chosen to remain in control and remain in the place of authority and dominion. I know and understand that Josiah was a righteous king, and that he reigned from David’s throne in righteousness before the Lord, yet it wasn’t until the Word of God was manifested in the place of the throne that true and ultimate transformation could take place. REPAIRING THE HOUSE, REDISCOVERING THE WORD AND REAPING TRANSFORMATION! This particular account within the life of Josiah began with repairing the house of the Lord, which would lead to the rediscovery of the Word of God. It would be this rediscovery of the Word of God that would transform the entire nation and kingdom, for not only would it bring forth transformation in the land in terms of the breaking down of altars, images and high places, but it would also call the people themselves to action. WHEN THE WORD OF GOD IS BROUGHT FROM THE PLACE OF THE ALTAR TO THE PLACE OF THE THRONE, IT DEMANDS ACTION FROM OTHERS. “Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. And the king went up into the house of the Lord, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the Covenant that was found in the house of the Lord. And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, and to keep His commandments, and His testimonies, and His statues, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant, which are written in this book. And he caused all that were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers. And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve, even to serve the Lord their God. And all his days they departed not from following the Lord, the God of their fathers” (2 Chronicles 34:29-33).
When the Word of God was brought from the place of the altar to the place of the throne, it brought Josiah to the place where he recognized all the wickedness, all the immorality, all the iniquity, all the rebellion, all the sin and transgression that was in the land. It is absolutely necessary and imperative that we read and pay close attention to this, for it isn’t until the Word of God is able to move from the place of the altar to the place of the altar to the place of the throne that true and lasting change and transformation can take place. Consider what could have happened had Hilkiah the high priest and Shaphan the scribe found the book of the Law, read the words contained therein, yet chose to leave the book of the Law in the house of the Lord. Consider what would and could have happened had the book of the Law not been brought forth from the place of the altar and brought to the place of the throne. I absolutely love Hilkiah the high priest and Shaphan the scribe, for they weren’t willing to allow the book of the Law to remain in the place of the altar, but brought it forth, and brought it unto the place of the throne. Is it possible that they recognized and understood that unless the Word of God was brought into and unto the place of the throne, true and lasting transformation could and would not take place? Oh how many of us choose to leave the Word of God in the place of the altar—the house of the Lord, or perhaps even our own prayer closet or secret place of prayer—yet we never allow it to touch and reach the place of the throne within our lives. I am convinced that so long as we are only willing to allow the Word of God to remain in the place of the altar, yet never allow it to reach the place of the throne, we cannot and will not experience true and lasting transformation. Is it possible that many of us choose to limit the Word of God to the place of the altar rather than bring it to the place of the throne because we don’t want that which the Word of God requires and demands to be found in the place of the throne? In other words—once the Word of God meets the place of the throne within our lives, we cannot, we dare not, we must not remain in control of any area or part of our lives. When the Word of God reached the place of the throne within the land of Judah—the palace of the king and the throne of David—it so gripped and seized Josiah’s heart that he rose from that place, rent his clothes, and removed himself from the throne to restore the land. There are so many of us who can’t experienced the type of change and transformation we may even desire and yearn for because we aren’t willing to allow the Word of God to reach the place of the throne within our lives—that place, and perhaps even those places we still choose to remain in control of. Watch out when the Word of God touches and reaches the place of the throne within the hearts and lives of certain individuals, for in the moment that happens, true and lasting transformation can and will take place.
The underlying question I can’t help but ask when considering this is how long are you going to limit the Word of God to the place of the altar? How long are you going to limit the Word of God to the place of the altar within the house of God? How long are you going to limit the Word of God to the house of the Lord, while never allowing it to reach and touch your own home? How long are you going to limit the Word of God to the prayer closet while never allowing it to touch, reach and transform the place of the throne within your life? So long as the Word of God remains in the place of the altar it cannot and will not ever demand or require change from us. Think about it—so long as you allow the Word of God to remain at and upon the altar in the house of the Lord, it never has to touch any area of your life. Oh, there are men and women who may allow the Word of God to touch their lives in the place of the altar, yet they are unwilling to take the Word of God to the place of the throne within their lives. They limit the Word of God to the place of the altar, and the only place they experience change and transformation is there at the altar. TRANSFORMATION IS NOT SUPPOSED TO TAKE PLACE AT THE ALTAR ALONE! TRANSFORMATION IS NOT SUPPOSED TO TAKE PLACE IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD ALONE! Transformation and change isn’t a once a week occurrence that we experience at the altar on Sunday mornings and that’s it. Tell me—what good is “transformation” at the altar of the house of the Lord if it doesn’t reach and transform the place of the throne within your life? It wasn’t until the Word of God reached the throne of David that transformation took place within the land, for not only did it produce a campaign of holiness, but it also produced the observation of the Passover, and even brought the people into a place of covenant before the Lord. When the Word of God moved from the place of the altar to the place of the throne three things occurred—cleansing of the land, commitment to follow the Lord, and celebration of the Passover. CLEANSING, COMMITMENT AND CELEBRATION! When the Word of God moves from the place of the altar to the place of the throne, cleansing of the land from all its iniquity, immorality and idolatry occurs. When the Word of God moves from the place of the altar to the place of the throne, commitment to Lord and to walking in His ways takes place. When the Word of God moves from the place of the altar to the place of the throne, celebration of Passover—celebration of deliverance from the bondage and oppression of Egypt take place. True and lasting change begins when the Word of God moves from the place of the altar to the place of the throne, and when cleansing, commitment, and celebration take place within our lives.
Tell me dear brother, tell me dear sister—with this being said—are you willing to allow the Word of God to move from the place of the altar to the place of the throne? Are you willing to allow yourself to relinquish control, authority and dominion within and over your own life in order that the principles contained within the Word of God can have full and complete authority? It’s only when the Word of God reaches the throne within your life that you no longer “rule” and “reign” according to your own selfish, self-centered and self-seeking ways, but are now governed completely and totally by the laws, the statutes, the principles, the regulations contained within the Word of God. How long are you going to continue allowing the Word of God to remain in the place of the altar alone without ever allowing it to reach the place of the throne? How long are you going to continue living in the place where the Word of God can only touch the place of the altar only? How long are you going to continue living in the place where the Word of God can only produce change and transformation in the place of the altar only? The prophet Jeremiah spoke to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and Judah concerning the length of time he had spent proclaiming the word of the Lord among them in their midst, which leads me to another very important question. How long are you willing to allow the Lord to continue speaking to you without hearing or listening to Him? How long are you going to allow the Lord to continue speaking to your heart without committing to any type of response or action? Beloved, the Word of God demands and requires action—perhaps the ultimate reason why men and women choose to leave the Word of God in the place of the altar alone, without every allowing it to touch the place of the throne. Oh that there would be a willingness within our hearts and spirits to allow the Word of God to move beyond the place of the altar, and to extend its reach to the place of the throne. It’s only when the Word of God moves from the place of the altar to the place of the throne that cleansing, commitment and celebration can occur. It’s only from the place of cleansing, commitment and celebration that true change and transformation can occur. Can these words be said of you at this present moment in time—“the word of the Lord hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened. And the Lord hath sent u not you all His servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear. They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever: and go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt. Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the Lord; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt” (Jeremiah 25:3-7). Oh that we would allow the Word of God to come out of and move beyond the closet and move throughout the entire house. Oh that we would allow the Word of God to come out of the single closet we have kept it in within our lives, and that it would move into every room within our lives in order that true change and transformation might occur. Are you ready? Are you willing? Are you able?
